BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - JAMAICAN sport icon Usain Bolt was among those in the audience cheering for his fellow native, 28-year-old Tessanne Chin, at last night’s (Nov.18) third Live Show in which many people believe was her best performance yet.

She performed ‘If I was Your Woman’ by Gladys Knight as she belted out a goose bump-giving show of vocal richness that caused her coach, Adam Levine to opine that her performance solidified her presence as a ‘major, major contender”.

So far, Tessanne Chin has been voted for twice by the public in the USA and those in other eligible territories during the Live Show elimination results, having advanced from the Top 20 and now the Top 10.

SKNVibes understands that Bolt, who is currently engaged in promotions for his book ‘Faster Than Lightning: My Autobiography (Book) by Usain Bolt (2013)’ as well as some promotional work for his brand sponsor Puma,  in the Los Angeles, took the time out to show Tessanne Chin his support in person.

Tonight (Nov.19) is the third Live Show elimination that will determine her fate in the popular US reality singing contest that is in its fifth season.

Levine was in high praise of her following the dynamic performance she gave, as he thanked her for trusting him regarding the song choice.

“Gladys Knight. That’s some serious stuff. I know you had your apprehension but I tried to talk you into it because I thought it was one of those moments where ‘what a song’ and ‘what a lyric’, and it’s so easy to understand and convey what that song means especially with your voice. And I just had that kind of vision for you, at least in this moment…you know? Next time we'll have another moment, but, this one, it was like solidifying your presence on this show as a major, major contender!”

Speaking on stage, Tessanne Chin appeared surprisingly shocked to see Usain Bolt in the audience seated in a row with her dad Richard Chin and her sister, popular Jamaican Dancehall artiste, Tami Chynn.

“I’m trying to stand up right now. I can’t believe he’s even here.”

Meanwhile, speaking on camera to the show host, Carson Daly, Usain Bolt highlighted that he was there to support his fellow Jamaican.

Tessanne Chin’s performance from last night can be viewed via http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn2eu5NqEeE.

Tessanne Chin made her debut performance at the annual St. Kitts Music Festival in 2007.

She was slated to return this year after the initial line-up was publicised. However, she was replaced by well-known Jamaican Reggae and Dancehall artiste Christopher Martin due to schedule conflict.

Many people are familiar with Tessanne Chin's music, which include popular songs such as 'Hide Away', 'Broken Melody', 'Messenger' and 'Never Let Me Go' featuring Shaggy.

Tonight’s episode, of The Voice, for viewers in St. Kitts-Nevis, begins at 10:00 p.m. since the US has its usual daylight saving time frame, which is an hour behind.
