SCASPA, Bird Rock, November 18th, 2013 -- The spotlight shun brightly on the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) which deservedly won the Excellence Business Achievement Award for the first time in the 13th Annual St. Kitts Tourism Experience Awards on Saturday, November 16, 2013.
The award was conferred by the St. Kitts Tourism Authority in the extravagant ceremony that was held at Carambola Beach Club. The ceremony brought together the best and brightest executives, organizations and stakeholders of the Tourism Industry to celebrate the outstanding contributions made by each organization to the development of the St. Kitts tourism product.
Out of numerous entries, the Authority impressively met all the criteria for its significant strides in balancing the needs of customers and employees, continuously improving customer satisfaction and providing a clear vision and direction for the organization over the past 12 months.
Chief Executive Officer of SCASPA, Mr. Jonathan Bass who received the award on behalf of the Authority commented on the achievement.
“This is a proud moment for SCASPA as we are still celebrating 20 years of Building, Serving and Sustaining. The Management and staff of SCASPA have been dedicatedly working to position SCASPA as a leading contributor to the Tourism industry and the economy of St. Kitts and Nevis.
We have experienced growth in our business, we have committed ourselves to consistent customer service and community involvement, we have expanded our operations to respond to the demands and challenges of the industry and it is an honour to be awarded for our hard work.”
Mr. Bass indicated that the award serves as a source of inspiration to SCASPA to raise the bar in the quality service it provides.
“Receiving this award serves as further motivation to the Authority to continue working harder as a company along with other stakeholders within the Industry to better deliver excellent services that will offer a visitor experience of quality. The Authority joined several organizations in receiving awards on that night and we will work together to continue to put St. Kitts at the forefront of international trade.”
The award is another significant achievement for SCASPA and from every account, 2013 is a year of “big wins” for the Authority. SCASPA not only boasts of winning this award but of winning the Port Management Association of the Caribbean’s Nova Port Cup Award for a second consecutive year, of being featured in key industry magazines as a leading port within the Caribbean region, and of being home to the first solar farm that runs an International Airport in the region.
