By: JACP, Press Release

BASSETERRE St. Kitts, November 20th, 2013  --  This Thursday 21st November 2013, over one hundred and twenty student participants from the 2012-2013 Junior Achievement Company Program will be rewarded for their hard work at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium, ECCB.

The Junior Achievement Company Program (JACP) Annual Awards Ceremony gives recognition to, and awards the students and teachers who have been involved in the Program during the preceding school year. Each school implementing the program would have submitted a business plan, participated in a local Trade Fair and submitted financial reports after the liquidation of their JA Companies.

Additionally, each year, special recognition is given to one student from each school, who went above and beyond what was required of them in executing their responsibilities to their school's JA Company.  There is also a National Junior Achiever prize.

Junior Achievement St Kitts-Nevis (JASKN) is the local management and implementation agency for Junior Achievement Worldwide which has been in existence for over one hundred years.  Its programs seek to educate and train young people in the areas of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. The Junior Achievement Company Program (JACP) has been executed in the Federation’s Secondary Schools over the past nine years.

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank continues to lend its unwavering support and influence to the program since it managed the Program at its introduction in 2004.  From 2008 up until earlier this year, the program was managed by the St Kitts-Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce.  As a new Non-Governmental Organization, the Junior Achievement programs are managed by a board of directors through its staff, with the support and sponsorship of our local businesses.

CIBC First Caribbean International Bank, the St Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank, the Bank of Nova Scotia have been among the major sponsors of Junior Achievement St Kitts-Nevis and its programs over the past few years, with Christophe Harbor coming on board in 2013.

The management and staff of Junior Achievement St Kitts-Nevis extends congratulations to the one hundred plus young people who have dedicated their positive energies to increasing their capacity to compete in the growing global community through the Junior Achievement Company Program.
