BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - JAMAICAN songstress 28-year-old Tessanne Chin has now advanced to the Top Eight of The Voice, following last night’s (Nov. 19) live elimination results aired on channel NBC.
Undoubtedly, last night’s episode was a nail-biting one for Tessanne Chin’s fans and music lovers after it was announced that her team mates were saved by the public’s votes from amongst the Top 10.
However, it was revealed later into the show that Team Adam had a “clean sweep”. And as fittingly put by host Carson Daly, he announced that Tessanne Chin’s top spot was voted for by the public in the USA and those in other eligible US territories.
On Monday (Nov.18), during the third Live Show, Tessanne Chin performed ‘If I were Your Woman’ by Gladys Knight in a performance that many people believed was her best yet.
Her coach, Adam Levine remarked that her performance solidified her presence as a “major, major contender”.
Last night, Tessanne Chin and Caroline Pennell did a dynamic duet in belting out ‘Royals’ by Lorde.
Come Monday night (Nov. 25), the Top Eight are slated to perform on the fourth Live Show of The Voice, which is now in its fifth season.
Tessanne Chin made her debut performance at the annual St. Kitts Music Festival in 2007.
She was slated to return this year after the initial line-up was publicised. However, she was replaced by well-known Jamaican Reggae and Dancehall artiste Christopher Martin due to schedule conflict.
Many people are familiar with Tessanne Chin's music, which include popular songs such as 'Hide Away', 'Broken Melody', 'Messenger' and 'Never Let Me Go' featuring Shaggy.
