BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Basseterre High Court of Justice handed down its ruling in the boundaries injunction matter earlier this morning (Nov. 25).

Presiding Judge His Lordship Darshan Ramdhani – in the presence of counsel for both the applicants and the respondents, media and others, ruled that the injunction which was previously granted staying the hand of the Governor General from approving the boundary changes remains in effect.

He further ruled that he is allowing for the boundaries case to undergo to judicial review at a later date.

Additionally, he ordered the Attorney General’s Office – which is providing legal representation for the Governor General - that he (the Governor General) or anyone operating on his behalf is restrained from making any proclamation in terms of the Constitutions Boundary Commission’s report until the matter would have been further ventilated by the Court.
