Montserrat team promotes development plans at UK Investment Summit

    LONDON, UK (November 28, 2013) – Information on Montserrat’s present and future development plans were on display in London today at Lancaster House for the UK Trade & Investment Forum for Overseas Territories.

     

    Present at the one-day event were representatives from OTs around the world including the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Montserrat.

    The Montserrat team lead by the Honourable Premier Reuben T. Meade comprised of CEO of the Montserrat Development Corporation (MDC) Ivan Browne, Trade and Investment Manager at the MDC David Crichton, Head of the UK Montserrat Office Janice Panton and Chevening Scholar and Government Architect Designate Linda Dias.

    Ivan Browne said they were able to meet with more than 20 companies who were offering goods and services as well as interested in the investment opportunities available in Montserrat. The team fielded information on the proposed port plans, the Little Bay Development, geothermal and private sector regeneration.

    Browne added that the His Excellency the Governor Adrian Davis also provided support throughout the day. 

    The MDC representatives also took time to visit the booths of the other Overseas Territories to see what was on offer and to how they could learn from their best practices.
