What will happen to Fast 7?

BASSETERRE, St.Kitts - WELL-KNOWN actor from the popular car-racing movies Fast & Furious, 40-year-old Paul Walker died in a fiery crash yesterday afternoon (Nov.30) in Los Angeles, US after the car in which he was travelling reportedly spun out of control and struck a pole and tree.

Just like countless fans around the globe, many people in St. Kitts-Nevis continue to pour expressions of grief via popular social network over this well-loved actor, and many were eagerly awaiting the premier of Fast 7.

Information gleaned from www.dailymail.co.uk revealed that Walker died in the car crash after his friend, former care racer 38-year-old Roger Rodas, who was also Walker's financial adviser, lost control of a Porsche GT which smashed into a pole and a tree.

Reportedly, “The high-powered super-car, which was being driven by Roger Rodas, burst into flames after it crashed in Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles, at 3:30pm on Saturday.”

It was further stated that “Walker, 40, who appeared in five of the six films about illegal street racing and heists, had been at an event for his charity Reach Out Worldwide before deciding to take the car, a cherry-red Porsche Carrer, out for a drive with his friend”.

As reported by that media house, the fundraiser, to benefit victims of Typhoon Haiyan, had been taking place in a race car shop near the scene of the crash.

The UK online media house said, “Guests rushed to put out the flames with fire extinguishers but the fireball had already engulfed the car.”

Details on the relationship between Walker and his friend were also shared.

“The pair was friends and had been racing for several years before they began collaborating on Walker's finances.

“Rodas had helped Walker establish his Reach Out Worldwide charity, after creating his own foundation to support widows and orphans in his native El Salvador. Rodas was also the CEO of Always Evolving, the car customization shop where Saturday's charity event had been taking place.”

After news of Walker’s death surfaced, many responded with disbelief and shock.

However, confirmation of the actor’s fatal traffic accident was announced to the world by reliable sources.

The UK media outlet said Ame Van Iden, Walker's publicist, said in an email: “Sadly, I must confirm that Paul did pass away this afternoon in a car accident.”

Additionally, the sad news was conveyed on the actor's official Facebook page which had the following message: “It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organisation Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives.

“We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences. - #TeamPW.”

Walker’s character name in the Fast & Furious movies was Brian O’Conner in which he starred with some equally famous actors including Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson and rapper Ludacris.

Many fans of Fast & Furious will be glad to hear this bitter sweet news that Fast 7, which was already in its filming process, could possibly expect its premier in the movie theatres.

In an article posted on www.hollywoodreporter.com today (Dec. 1), it was stated that “Universal and the team behind Fast & Furious 7 are facing a delay in production following the tragic death of actor Paul Walker, but sources say the movie will not be abandoned entirely”.

According to that media house, “Walker, along with the rest of the cast and crew of Fast 7, had been scheduled to return to Atlanta on Sunday to resume shooting the big-budget film, which features extensive car racing. Those plans are on hold until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest.”

Many fans and others have deemed the way in which Walker died as an ironic fatality stemming mainly from the nature of the Fast and Furious film series.
