BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JULY 26TH 2005
The 8th OECS Health Ministers Meeting will be held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort this week.
The Conference on July 28th and 29th is expected to be presided over by St. Kitts and Nevis Minister of Health, the Hon. Rupert Herbert and coincides with a meeting the 19th OECS/Pharmaceutical Procurement Service Policy Board.

Delegates at the OECS/PPS Policy Board meeting will discuss a five-year strategic plan for 2005-2009 and will also review the annual report for 2005.

Also down for discussion is a proposal to reduce the administrative fee from 15 percent to 13 percent and a procurement audit to determine the usage by OECS member countries of the pooled procurement programme.

The status of the planned implementation of the OECS Health Sector Reform Project, status of implementation of the OECS/Global fund programme to combat HIV/AIDS and the feasibility of establishing an OECS Radiotherapy centre are also among the broad issues for discussion.
