CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - MINISTER of Health Hensley Daniel on Friday (Jan. 23) applauded the Global Faith Alliance organisation for donating 40 boxes of medical supplies to the Alexander Hospital in Charlestown.

The supplies were presented to Minister Daniel by the organisation’s local representative Pastor Dave Morton at a ceremony on the hospital grounds.

The Minister said the donation was greatly appreciated and called on the hospital staff to ensure that the supplies were well maintained. Minister Daniel said partnerships such as the one between the hospital and the Alliance are encouraged by the Nevis Island Administration.

Pastor Morton, while pledging the Alliance’s continued assistance, said it would be dispatching 38 nurses to the Federation for a medical mission as early as next month.  Ten of the nurses will attend to Nevisians while the others will be in St. Kitts.  In Nevis, the mission will be located at Jessups New Testament Church and at Eden Brown Church.

Pastor Morton said the team is expected to bring 15 tons of medical supplies.

Gynecologist Dr. John Essien, who was present during the handing over ceremony, said the medical supplies would come in handy. Also present was the hospital’s Administrator, Veta Morton, and the hospital’s Matron, Sinica Dias.
