BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - JAMIAICAN songstress 28-year-old Tessanne Chin was last night (Dec. 10) announced one of the three finalists on the popular US reality singing competition The Voice during the Live Results show aired on channel NBC.

Jamaicans, other Caribbean nationals and fans no doubt were super excited when Tessanne Chin was the first revealed finalist of the show.

On Monday night (Dec. 9), Tessanne Chin, during the Semi-Finals, gave a soulful performance of the 1970 classic ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, originally sung by Simon and Garfunkel.

That Semi-Final contest, which was the fourth Live Show, featured the Top Five competitors.

Following Monday night’s show, that song performed by Tessanne Chin rose to number one on the iTunes music chart.

SKNVibes gathered that each time a song priced at US$1.29 is bought on iTunes, the competitor who sang it would have received five votes.

Additionally, each performance that makes it to the iTunes top 10 would have their votes multiplied by five.

Tessanne Chin made her debut performance at the annual St. Kitts Music Festival in 2007.

Her popular songs include 'Hide Away', 'Broken Melody', 'Messenger' and 'Never Let Me Go' featuring  popular Jamaican Reggae and Dancehall artiste Shaggy, whom she has credited for encouraging her to compete in The Voice.

Should she win, Tessanne Chin will land a recording contract and the grand prize of $100 000 cash.

The final phase of The Voice is scheduled for next Monday night (Dec. 16).
