| Reigning Calypso King of St. Kitts "King Socrates" |
Basseterre August 3rd 2005 -The reigning 2004 2005 Calypso king of St. Kitts King Socrates is scheduled to compete in this years 2005 9th Annual Leeward Island Calypso Monarch Competition at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Center in Anguilla. The King will be coming up against the 2004 Leeward Islands calypso monarch also from St. Kitts King Ayatollah who placed 1st runner-up behind Socrates in the 2004-2005 canival calypso competition and the now reigning calypso Culturama king of Nevis Dis and Dat .
Socrates who won the Leeward Islands crown back in 2001 said the he is excited about re-entering such a prestigious competition.

The Leeward Island Calypso Monarch Competition is a show of high standards said Socrates and it is always a pleasure to be entering
Ayatollah was the second Kittitian to ever win the Leeward Island Calypso Monarch Competition in 2004.
The calypso monarchs are scheduled to leave for Anguilla during the week of August 1st to prepare for the show which is scheduled for Saturday August 6, 2005 at 8:00pm.
Other countries participating on the competition are Saba, Anguilla, Antigua, Tortola, Statia, Montserrat, St. Croix and St. Thomas.
