BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A young man from the Cayon community was shot and killed shortly after 8:00 tonight (Jan. 9) in Upper Cayon after he was attacked by unknown assailant(s).
Dead is Valentine Gaskin, known to many as ‘Wally’ of Upper Cayon, who was gunned down in the vicinity of the old St. Mary’s Anglican Rectory in Upper Cayon.
Details surrounding the incident are sketchy but one resident recalled hearing a number of gunshots being fired, and on looking out a window saw a crowd of people gathered around a motionless body lying on the road.
“I was just here and I heard one load a shots, then I look outside and saw people standing up in the street then I noticed a body lying in the road.
This is the Federation’s first murder for 2014.
