BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - WITH its cool, cozy atmosphere and a view of the picturesque Caribbean Sea with its warm blue mesmerising waters, The Lounge is the place to be. If you are on the Frigate Bay Strip and looking for a place to cool down after a hard day’s work or to relax with family members, then this unique wooden structure with a beach front view is the ideal spot.
On a recent visit to The Lounge, SKNVibes Business spoke with the barman, Michael Finch, who provided a detailed account of the entity.
“The Lounge is a place where people can come and relax. It has a family atmosphere and persons can go to the beach if they want or they can sit at the bar and watch TV. They can also listen to music or just stay for the food and great drinks. It’s a fun place to be when you come to the beach.”
The entertainment spot boasts six top quality staff inclusive of an experienced bar tender who would mix patrons a Martini in just about a minute or make them one of his favourite cocktail specials.
Finch has in his bar an assortment of “top end” alcoholic beverages such as Johnny Walker Blue and Black Labels Whisky as well as Johnny Walker Platinum Whisky.
He noted that most people who visit the bar to cool down would “just ask for a light beer or some non-alcoholic beverage”.
Finch explained that the upscale bar is normally very busy in the evenings and during the day it would be visited by many tourists.
“People mostly come here at nights because it’s one of the upscale places on the beach and it is frequented by tourists every single day if they want to go on the beach. All in all, I would say that the turnout from tourists and locals is pretty good.”
Noting what sets The Lounge apart from other entertainment spots on the Strip, Finch said: “We have what the other bars don’t have...Pedi Cabs. It is a fun ride and tourists use it because you can go anywhere you want on the island.”
“We also have great drink specials. We have amazing cocktails, and I am not trying to be cocky, but I say we have the best cocktails. We boast a place where tourists would want to eat…it’s different from most bars.”
It also boasts an outdoor cinema where tourists and locals can watch a movie on the beach while munching on a serving of their delicious chicken wings, which are being offered at a very modest price.
The barman informed that plans are afoot to include more Caribbean cuisine into The Lounge’s menu.
