BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - COMMONWEALTH team captain Kim Collins of St. Kitts and Nevis won the men's 150m race yesterday (Jan. 25) at the at the Glasgow International Match in Scotland.

The Commonwealth Select team amassed 62 points to win the competition by three points from the United Kingdom Select.

The 37-year-old sprinter showed his experience and outclassed his opponents from the start of the race and finished in a time of 15.84 seconds.

Collins, in his usual style, got out of the blocks in a burst of speed and looked to be distancing himself from his competitors before being faced with a late challenge from eventual second place winner James Ellington of the United Kingdom (minus Scotland).

He however thwarted the challenge and ran away with the race.

The United Kingdom Select team finished in second position and team USA placed third.

Hosts Scotland were beaten into fourth place by the United States, despite Laura Muir breaking the national record in the women's 800m.
