BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A young man has been categorised as “lucky” having escaped a serious one-car accident in the New Road area.

When this media house arrived on the scene, the vehicle was lodged within the ditch on the eastern side of the road and the driver was on the opposite side speaking with some individuals.

SKNVibes understands that the young man was travelling towards Basseterre’s, and after losing control the vehicle overturned with its front pointed towards the St. Peters direction. The roof was extensively damaged as well as the front and rear windscreens, among other parts.

Debris consisting of parts ripped from the vehicle lined the side of the road and stretched for at least 10 yards from the site of the crash.

Visibly shaken by the ordeal, the young man spoke with traffic police officers who arrived on the scene sometime later.

This media house contacted the Traffic Department to acquire additional information about the accident but all efforts were unsuccessful. It is understood, however, that investigations are ongoing.

Details of the accident are still sketchy, but SKNVibes understands that at about 12:40 this afternoon (Feb 6) the young man, whose name is yet to be ascertained, was driving motor car P9622 along the main road in the vicinity of the R. L. B. International Airport when he lost control of the vehicle.
