BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – CARNIVAL lovers in the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis will be seeing a number of changes in this year’s celebrations, with the first being a modification to the Sugar Mas 43 Calendar, which will include deadline information.
In brief remarks concerning the overview of last year’s celebration at the awards ceremony and closing of Sugar Mas 42, Chairman of the Carnival Committee Sylvester Anthony said that some of the initiatives set out by the group were successful while others failed.
“Some of them didn’t work but we are going to try them again this year. I want to tell you that we have much more in store for Sugar Mas’43. So as we close the curtains today on Sugar Mas’ 42, we begin to lift the curtains on Sugar Mas’ 43”.
According to an official from the Carnival Committee for Sugar Mas 43, the calendar for this year’s celebration would have been circulated last week but with a number of changes compared to previous years.
“The new calendar is finished for Sugar Mas’ 43, but we had to make a number of minor changes to it. One of the new things we would be adding to the calendar is the deadline dates for all submissions,” the source told SKNVibes Entertainment.
However, due to rumours circulating about a new Carnival Chairman, this publication has confirmed that the current Chairman of the Committee, Sylvester Anthony, will remain in his position for Sugar Mas’ 43.
