ARRESTS
BASSETERRE St. Kitts, February 3rd, 2014 -- Jazil Lewis of Phillips Village was formally arrested and charged for the offence of Unlawfully and Maliciously Setting Fire To A Certain Building Devoted and Dedicated to a Public Use to Wit the Venezuelan Embassy, which was committed on 5th January 2014.
Kenneth Gonzaley of Fountain was formally arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis With Intent To Supply, which were committed on 29th January 2014.
COURT CONVICTIONS
District "A" Magistrate's Court
Kelvin George of Carty Alley, Newtown was convicted for the offence of Larceny, which was committed between 1st and 2nd October 2013, and sentenced to two (2) years suspended sentence, however, if he commits any offence within the two (2) year period he would be imprisoned for two (2) years.
A juvenile was convicted for the offence of Larceny, which was committed between 9 November 2012 and 8 December 2012, and ordered to receive six strokes with a tamarind rod.
Jamal Pemberton of Tabernacle was convicted for the offence of Larceny, which was committed between 9 November 2012 and 8 December 2012, and fined $200.00 which is to be paid by 29th January 2014 or in default will serve one (1) month in prison. He was also ordered to pay the victim compensation of $800.00 which is to be paid by 29th January 2014 or in default will serve one (1) month in prison.
District "C" Magistrate's Court
Javan Bartlette of Bath Village was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis, which was committed on 3rd January 2014 at Charlestown, and fined $1500.00 which is to be paid within three (3) months or in default will serve six (6) months in prison with hard labour.
Delroy Williams of Ponds Pasture was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis, which was committed on 20th August 2013 at Cades Bay, and fined $800.00 which is to be paid in six (6) months or in default will serve six (6) months in prison with hard labour.
