St. Thomas, USVI- After discovering the bodies of two men in Mandahl area on Sunday (Feb.8), police have now identified them as John Diehl, 52, and Marvis Chamaro, 24.

Police Chief Rodney Querrard Sr. informed that on Sunday afternoon at around 2, police responded to a call of shots fired and while in route to the scene they were advised that a gunshot victim was traveling to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Hospital by private vehicle. Police, Forensic Investigators, Major Crimes Detectives along with St. Thomas Rescue, DPNR Enforcement Officers and Superior Court Marshals all responded to both the hospital and the scene of the shootings.

He said that victim, later identified as Diehl, did not survive his injuries. He had suffered from gunshot wounds to his head and chest. The second victim, Chamaro, was found by police in a bushy area adjacent to the Mandahl Bay Road. He too had been shot.

Chief Querrard said Major Crime Detectives are following all leads in this latest killing and urges the public to call police with any and all information pertaining to this crime, no matter how insignificant it may seem.

He added there is the possibility that a dark blue compact car may have been in the area and occupants may have additional information regarding this incident. Persons with relevant information can call Querrard’s office at 340-715-5548, Major Crime Detectives Sergeant Lionel Bess or Corporal Adelbert Phipps at 715-5545 or 715-5546.
