CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – FRIDAY (Feb. 14), many people around the world celebrated St. Valentine’s Day and residents of St. Kitts and Nevis were not omitted.

Traditionally, it is the day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine’s cards, presenting flowers or offering confectionary, or they may devise other heart-warming ways to do so.

Weekend Vibes took to the streets and enquired how residents on Nevis felt about this day and what they had planned for its celebration.

    Shamian Newton
“I don’t believe in celebrating Valentine. I strongly believe that love should be shown everyday.”

    Wingrove Powell
“I believe that Valentine should be celebrated everyday with your lover. It does not make sense to wait until Valentine’s Day to tell your lover how much you love and appreciate him.”

    Hazel Webb
“I believe in celebrating Valentine but we should not wait for one special day to celebrate our love for each other, because everyday God shows us His love.”

    Lynel Valentine Powell

    Jason Jeffers
“Yes, I believe in Valentine. I have nuff plans for Valentine’s Day. I want a gift and I going out with my girlfriend.”

    Violette Glasgow
