March 4th, 2014 -- New York City-based College Mentoring Preparatory and Access Services (COMPAS) salutes "Education Champions" from the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
COMPAS, a three-year old not-for profit organization that assists students focused on pursuing undergraduate studies has proven to be a fundamental part of the college experience for many of the federation's students studying in the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut).
The knowledgeable team of educators strive to provide new and current students from the federation with much needed guidance during their matriculation in various Tri-State universities. So far, their work has been very well received by students and parents alike. Despite the challenging journey, the COMPAS team has reaped great rewards for the students who have benefited from multiple COMPAS initiatives.
COMPAS's positive impact has also been underscored by the many current and former educators and supporters from the federation who have offered to play their part in fulfilling the COMPAS vision that ultimately seeks to provide young people with the tools to realize their dreams.
On Saturday March 15, 2014, the COMPAS team will honor those who have played an integral role in educating our nation and whose lifetime of service in education has changed the lives of scores of people. It will be a most auspicious and rare opportunity to salute the nation's "Education Champions".
The event will be held on Saturday March 15, 2014 at the Holy Nativity Church Event Center located at 3061 Bronx, New York. Cocktail hour begins at 7pm followed by dinner, an award ceremony and dancing.
