Jennifer Byron-Nero elected to SKNOC executive

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, March 5th, 2014  --  The St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC) convened an Extra-Ordinary General Assembly on Thursday 27th February 2014, specifically to elect the final member of its nine-member Executive. The elections became necessary as a result of the passing of Ms. Tehani Baley, several weeks earlier. The Meeting honoured the memory of Ms. Baley by observing a moment of silence.

     

    Ms. Jennifer Byron-Nero was unanimously elected to SKNOC Executive at the said meeting which was convened as per the SKNOC Constitution within the stipulated time (60 days) after the position became vacant.
     
    According to SKNOC President, Mr. Alphonso Bridgewater, he “welcomes Ms. Jennifer Byron-Nero whose support of and involvement with the SKNOC, and sports in general, have long been established”. President Bridgewater continued, “Ms. Byron-Nero brings additional value gained from her extended participation at national, regional and international levels as an active athlete and as a representative and advocate in the Board Rooms; plus her professional knowledge, skills and competencies. These are attributes of which the SKNOC expects to take full advantage”.
