KOI Resort builds head office by airport

    BASSETERRE, ST KITTS- BANGLADESHI world-renowned restaurant ‘KOI’ which is constructing a multi-million dollar five star resort in the Federation, is now constructing its two-storey Head Office at the eastern end of the F. T. Williams Highway, in vicinity of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.

     

    SKNVibes Business understands that this is the first major realestate project that the KOI brand is undertaking in the Federation and the first of its kind in the Caribbean. 

     

    With construction of the office spaces having begun in February 2014, it is expected that the 40-room structure would be completed by the end of the year. 

     

    While construction is being undertaken by a construction firm, SKNVibes understands that, several sections of the work would be sub-contracted to other smaller contracting companies.

     

    SKNVibes Business inquired about the number of individuals who would be employed during the construction process and it was found that - because of the sub-contracting - it would be difficult to indicate at this time.

     

    It was explained however that up to 20 workers could be on site during any phase of the construction process.

     

    This publication understands that the management of KOI’s local affairs would be performed at the head office.

     

    KOI Resort

     

    KOI is also in the process of constructing its mega five star resort -  KOI Resort - at Half Moon Bay  and according to a press release published on www.cuopm.com it “will be a luxurious internationally branded hotel with meticulously appointed villas and suites, which will be available for purchase, and will include the renowned Koi Restaurant, beach club and exclusive ultra lounge.”

     

    It was also explained that this new business venture falls under the Citizenship by Investment Programme.

     

    Work on that project began in February 2013 and this media house understands that it would be carried out in two parts; the first is expected to be completed by the latter part of 2015 and the other is expected to to be completed by the end of 2017.

     

    Upon completion, the resort is expected to accommodate more than 200 quests with 290 rooms.

     

    The KOI brand restaurants are owned and operated by Bangladeshi born Nick Haque who currently operates several high-profile top-end cuisine restaurants in Las Vegas, Los Angles, New York, Bangkok, Thailand and Abu Dhabi.
