PM, Foreign Minister and Mexican diplomat to speak at station opening

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, March 11th 2014 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Patrice Nisbett and Mexico’s Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis will deliver remarks at Wednesday’s Opening Ceremony of the new Tabernacle Police Station.

     

    Prime Minister Douglas, who has ministerial responsibility for the Anti-Crime Unit, will deliver the feature address at the ceremony which begins at 4:30 P.M.

    Master of Ceremony and Permanent Secretary in the Anti-Crime Unit, Her Excellency Astona Browne will invite Force Chaplain, Rev. Leroy Benjamin to say a prayer after the singing of the National Anthem.

    Welcome remarks will come from Commissioner of Police, Mr. Celvin G. Walwyn and an Overview of the Project from Director of Public Works, Mr. Cromwell Williams.

    Presentations will be made by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services.

    Divisional Commander B, Superintendent Cromwell Henry will give the Vote of Thanks, a Community official will assist ion the cutting of the ribbon, the building will be blessed and a guided tour of the building will follow.

    The construction of the building was jointly funded by the Government of Mexico and the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis.

    It will house the new Tabernacle Police Station and the Tabernacle Division of the Fire and Rescue Services.
