March 12th, 2014 -- The management and staff of the Delisle Walwyn Group of Companies extend congratulations to the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) Debating Team for a job well done. The team placed second overall in the 42nd Annual Leeward Islands Debating Competition, which took place in Montserrat from 27 February to 2 March.
For the final night of the contest, the members of Team St Kitts were the proponents of the topic ‘Voting in national elections should be the right of resident citizens only’ and Team Montserrat opposed. In the end, Team Montserrat was judged the winner of what was referred to, in various news releases on the event, as a keenly contested final.
Delisle Walwyn Co. Ltd was happy to sponsor the team again this year as a contribution to the CFBC, an institution, which facilitates the growth and development of the federation’s youth, and particularly the debating society, which is a forum that exposes students and encourages them to participate in healthy debate on topics of interest in our region.
