BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – VYBZ KARTEL and the three men with whom he was convicted of murder could face life imprisonment after their 65-day trial came to an end two days ago at the Home Circuit Court in Jamaica.
According to the Jamaican Gleaner, the four men would be sentenced on March 27 for the murder of Clive 'Lizard' Williams.
Shane Williams, one of the men held for the murder, was acquitted. The media house reported that he was freed due to the fact that there was one voice note which the witness said was his (Williams’) voice note. It was also reported that the witness in his testimony admitted that he had never spoken to Williams over the telephone before.
“The men will be sentenced to life imprisonment and the judge will recommend how many years they will serve before they are eligible for parole. In the case of murder, the parole time can run to more than 15 years,” the Gleaner reported.
Williams' sister, who was in court and was a witness in the case, wept when she heard the verdict.
Adidja 'Vybz Kartel' Palmer along with fellow entertainer Shawn Storm whose real name is Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St. John looked very surprised when the verdict was handed down.
