Rotaract Club Beach Clean

Rotaractors Julian Bryan and Gary Williams
By: Rotaract Club, Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 16th 2014 – As the sun set on a cool Sunday afternoon, some members of the Rotaract Club of St. Kitts gathered at Irishtown Bay Road to participated in a Beach Clean up to close off World Rotaract Week.

As members of the club cleaned along the Bay Road, we collected debris from the coastal area and also from between the rocks on the Bay Road.  When we completed the cleanup we collected four (4) large garbage bags that were filled with trash.

The Rotaract Club of St. Kitts takes this opportunity to encourage persons to help keep our beaches clean and not to litter.  We need to preserve our marine/coastal environment; if we continue to litter and leave debris on the beaches it will have a great effect on our marine life as well as our economy.
