BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AS the 2014 OECS Under-23 Netball Tournament approaches, an open call has been made to young netballers who fall into that category to try out for the St. Kitts team.
In an exclusive interview with SKNVibes Sports, Public Relations Officer of the St. Kitts Netball Association, Dominic Matthew stated that they are seeking to prepare for the upcoming tournament.
“There is an open call for Under-23 team. There are practice sessions ongoing at the Pam Tyson Netball Complex and Amanda French is working with those ladies so that they could prepare for the Under-23 Tournament.”
He also stated that they are aiming to find the best girls who want to contribute to the sport.
“The aim is to find the best girls. We recognise that there are some persons who may have passed through netball at the primary and secondary levels and they are now at the CFBC or they are now employed and they want to contribute to the sport. This is their opportunity to come out and still show their solidarity to netball. We open the door for them to come and support the sport and join the Under-23 team.”
The OECS Netball Tournament is held in July annually and was won in 2011 by team St. Kitts.
