“What a Crowd ...What a Dinner !” Hon. Sam Condor 25th Anniversary Banquet a huge success

    “I love my People and I Love My Country,” declares the 25 year MP

     

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, March 24th, 2014  --  "I love my people and  I love my Country" were words proudly declared by Hon . Sam Terrence Condor at a banquette held in honor of his 25 years of yeoman service to the residents and people of Constituency 3, West Basseterre.

     

    The function was held at the OOJ's conference centre at Camps Main Road. The expectation was high, the Hall beautifully decorated with the colors of UNITY - Orange, Blue, White and Gold, the  feverish movements of the organizers as they put the finishing touches to the tables ladened with food, and the crowds streaming in made one realize that something special was happening, history was in the making.

    The Master of Ceremonies Hon. Dwyer Astaphan, chaired the evenings proceedings. He brought greetings from the sister Island of Nevis with Leader and Deputy Leader of Team UNITY Partner the Concerned Citizens Movement Premier Vance Amory and Leader of the Opposition Hon. Mark Brantley. The head table was graced by the presence of the Hon. Shawn Richards leader of the People's Action Movement, The Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris, the Leader of the People's Labour Party and also the confident proud and much loved Leader of Team UNITY and the man of the evening Hon. Sam Terrence Condor West Basseterre representative for the last 25 years.

    Invoking Gods blessings on the evening was eloquently and sincerely performed by Miss Agnes Farrell.

    Hon. Shawn Richards then gave brief remarks of congratulations on behalf of himself and the People’s Action Movement. Richards talked about the help that Condor as Minister of Government Business in Parliament offered to all parliamentarians regardless of their political differences. The graciousness and respect in which Mr. Condor treated him and the advice and assistance that he gave. Indeed Mr. Richards stated that even today the same ease and respect was still present in working together with Mr. Condor from a different side of the fence. Working together for the better of the people of the Country.

    Team UNITY Leader the charismatic Dr. Harris then gave his words of encouragement and congratulations to Mr. Condor having served with him for most of the 25 years. He spoke about the sober, clear thinking individual that Sam is . Always wanting the best for the people of his Constituency and the Country as a whole. Harris noted that indeed history was made that evening with the coming together of the "FAMILY" from all sides of the political divide to honor a great, humble and genuine man like Sam Condor.

    I Soursop, a resident calypsonian in the constituency then thrilled the audience to one of his pieces , pledging his love to his Country.

    Mrs. Eugenie Condor then serenaded her  husband to a song "I will love you forever" to the cheers of the audience.

    Persons from in the audience were then invited to say a few words to Mr. Condor.  Everyone of them spoke about the assistance that Mr. Condor had given to them at some point in time during these last 25 years. They spoke of his humbleness and respect meted out to them. They all pledged their support to him in his bid to contest the next elections.

    Nicha B then Performed a number of tunes and  like a seasoned performer he had the audience singing along with him.
     
    Hon Sam Condor in his usual quiet, humble and unassuming manner proceeded to thank all who had supported him over the years. Some he stated had given him support even before he got into politics. From school days and football days. Those who offered him words of advice in his political career and in his personal life. He made mention of persons who even though they were of a different political persuasion offered him the same courtesies and respect that he showed to them.
     
    He thanked especially the hard working committee that had made the evening possible and the tremendous success that it was. Indeed persons continued to be impressed with Sam a man known to all as be a stable, genuine, caring individual who has always had nothing but love for his people. He remains "Sam  de Man - the best in the West"
     
    A Chinese auction then followed along with a raffle of a 32"inch TV.
     
    The DJ continued with popular songs that had persons dancing and singing and simply enjoying a wonderful occasion.
    It was an evening of UNITY in all it's glory!
