Operation Future Conducts Assembly

    On February 20th 2009 the officers of Operation Future, led by Const. Lauston Percival conducted general assembly at the Dr. William Connor Primary School.  The team was accompanied by Mr. Alex Condell who opened the proceedings with a musical rendition of the National Anthem on the Saxophone, and Mr. Andre ‘Magic man’ Phipps, who made a brief presentation to the students.  Mr. Phipps warned the students against dishonesty, gangs, and youth pregnancy.  He admonished them to be always on their best behavior and to become decent and productive adults. 

     

    Mr. Anthony Wiltshire, principal of the school said that the children and staff always look forward to having the group at the school, and that the children are always thrilled at the opportunity to interact with the officers, adding that, “they see them not only as Police Officers, but as friends”.  He said further, “the group’s messages are always positive and uplifting, and if the children are able to focus on and digest the message, their future will be bright.”

     

    Operation Future is an initiative by Const. Lauston Percival, and an energized group of constables, whose main objective is ensuring that our children do not become involve in deviant and anti-social behavior. The group is endorsed by the High Command of Police Force, and regularly visits the primary schools on St. Kitts, and interacts with the staff and students in various forms.  Members of the group attending this morning’s assembly were WPC Lyndita Powell, WPC Myrtle Nicholas, Const. Alph Authurton, Woman Special Constable Shaw and Const. Gregory Hanley.
