BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN autopsy performed on the body Askeo Farrell concluded that he died from traumatic shock.

A police release stated that the post mortem examination was performed on Sunday (Mar. 30) by the Resident Pathologist, “who concluded that the death was a result of Traumatic Shock as a result of Multiple Thoracic Fractures”.

According to research done by this publication, Thoracic Fractures can be defined as the breaking of bones or cartilages in the chest area, which is part of the body that lies between the throat and the diaphragm. This area is encased by the ribs.

The 31-year-old Farrell, also known as Askeo Jeffers and Ras Jahred of West Farm, was discovered dead in the elevator shaft at the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport on Sunday (Mar. 30).

A friend of the late St. Christopher Air and Sea Port Authority’ employee told SKNVibes that after completing repairs to the escalator in the Arrival Hall of the airport on Friday afternoon (Mar. 2), Farrell was asked to take a look at the elevator before retiring for the day.

The friend also said that Farrell had contacted his girlfriend and requested that she “pick him up from work around 6:00 p.m.”, but when she got there he could not have been located.

“She turn up at de airport to pick him up and she keep calling his phone but he never answered. So she waited about an hour and nobody didn’t see or hear from him,” the friend said.

He added that as the night progressed, relatives became worried as calls to the maintenance man’s phone were not answered and employees from the airport had no knowledge of where he was.

SKNVibes learnt that family members had reported him missing to the police on Sunday morning (Mar. 30). However, on that said morning, employees at the airport reportedly picked up a foul scent coming from the elevator.

Upon checking, Farrell's body was found and it is believed that he was crushed between the outside of the elevator and the wall of the shaft.
