BASSETERRE St. Kitts, 4th April 2014 -- The Social Security Board wishes to announce that the appeals process in relation to challenges to our decisions regarding benefits is alive and well. This is in keeping with the provisions of the Social Security (Determination of Questions) Regulations.
This offers the opportunity for persons to formally express disagreement with decisions which may be unfavourable to them; and to request review in such cases.
Since the formal installation of the Tribunal in 2010, a number of cases have been heard and decided upon. The Tribunal has now recently held sittings on both St. Kitts and Nevis during the period of 2nd and 3rd April 2014 to consider certain matters that were brought by claimants for its adjudication.
In due course, the Social Security Board will publish relevant details of the activities of the Tribunal for general information.
