BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO bales of compressed marijuana were earlier today (Apr. 9) discovered by law enforcement officers aboard a vessel at Port Zante and a number of individuals have been taken into custody for questioning.
According to Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David, about 1:30 p.m. today, an intelligence-led operation unearthed two bales of compressed marijuana aboard a vessel that was moored at the Marina at Port Zante.
Inspector David said police received information that a vehicle had arrived at the Marina and had dropped off a package on the vessel.
The PRO stated that the two bales of compressed marijuana were seized and a number of persons were taken into custody and are currently assisting with investigations.
He informed that the operation was conducted by members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, the St. Kitts-Nevis Customs and Excise Department and the K9 Unit.
