Easter Monday togetherness beach bash for Frigate Bay
BASSETERRE St. Kitts, April 17th, 2014 - The Constituency #7 Branch of Team Unity is hosting this year’s chapter of the Annual Kite Flying Competition. The Competition was introduced to help revive the cultural pastime of Kite flying on Good Friday. This year’s participants will be competing in 5 categories inter-alia - Highest Kite, Most Colourful Kite on display, Largest Kite on display, the Oldest Participant and the Youngest Participant in the competition. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in each of the five categories.
Dr. the Hon Timothy Harris, Team Unity Leader and Member of Parliament for the area, said that he was happy to be able to continue the competition for yet another year. He thanked members of the organizing committee and sponsors for their support and partnership in the Annual KiteFlying Competition. “We intend to make Good Friday family a day and we have a variety of other events such as cricket, dominoes, draft and bouncing castles to ensure that everyone will have something to do.”
Also this weekend is the Team UNITY “TOGETHERNESS” Beach Bash at Frigate Bay Beach on Easter Monday April 21st . The Beach Bash is expected to feature some of the islands top Bands including the reigning Road March Champions the Small Axe Band along with top DJ’s and some surprise gueST performers.
The event will also include Beach Football, Cricket and Volleyball Competitions along with Bouncing Castles for the kids and Domino and Kite Flying Competition. The TOGETHERNESS Affair begins at 1pm and goes right down into Easter Monday evening.
