Home grown Team UNITY talent fest attracts "ton loads" of young people

By: Team UNITY, Press Release (TUCOM)

May 6th, 2014  --  Molyneux Hard Court was the throb of activity and youthful energy on Friday night as a massive crowd of young people came together to celebrate with their peers in what the Constituency #7 Branch of Team Unity called Home Grown Talent Night.

Several prominent artistes brought the crowd alive. Among them were Lord Maths to Hard, Nicha B, Big Lice, BBM and Highlight. MCs for the occasion were Calypso Reggie and Sandra B.

Following the performances by the artistes, Parliamentary Representative for Constituency #7 and Team Unity’s Leader, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris made a brief entry on stage during which he thanked the organizers for an excellent show. He commended the crowd for their support and their high level of participation and excellent conduct and behavior. He acknowledged all the artistes and hailed the cadre of popular local talent.

Dr Harris committed a Team Unity government to help the young people in getting decent jobs, with adequate pay thereby allowing them to take care of themselves and their families. He reminded the young people of Team Unity’s commitment to the young as demonstrated in its policies to free up pre-school education and significantly reduce the cost of university education and mortgages.

“We want to empower our young people to be the best that they can be and where possible our Team Unity government will provide our young people with tangible support to help them advance as managers and owners of businesses,” said Dr Harris. He committed that Team Unity will work full time to advance the cause of all the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Several of Team Unity’s candidates were on hand to savour the delight. Among them were Hon Shawn Richards, Hon Eugene Hamilton and Ian “Patches” Liburd.

Following the remarks by Team Unity’s Leader the Nu Vybes Band was introduced to the mammoth audience.

The massive crowd of people gathered for the occasion danced the night away to the pulsating sounds of the Best and Sweetest Band in the Land, “Nu Vybes” also known as “the Sugar Band.”
