BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, May 5th 2014 (TUCOM) -- Expectations are high for upcoming Listening Tour of Team Unity. The second in a series of listening tours is slated for C3 (Constituency #3) West Basseterre at the Community Centre at Laguerite, this Thursday 8th May, 2014. The event will start at 7:30pm.
Parliamentary Representative for constituency #3, Hon Sam Condor will be joined by Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, Team Unity Leader and other Team Unity candidates. Last week the first of the series of listening tours got off to an excellent start with a huge turnout of people at the Newtown Community Centre.
At that meeting Dr the Hon Timothy Harris announced two further popular initiatives such as
1. Reduction in mortgages for owners of N.H.C and government built homes.
2. Reduction in loan repayments for students engaged in tertiary level education.
These deliverables follow earlier announcements on removal of VAT on food, medicines and funeral expenses; abolition of fees to Pre Schools thereby making education free of costs from Pre School to Secondary School; reduction in electricity; incentives for farmers and fishers; the recapitalization of the $16 million short fall in their severance entitlements and the compensation of employees injured in course of performing work for the government.
Dr Harris said that the Douglas led administration was out of ideas for National Development. “Only Team Unity was discussing solutions to relieve the pain and suffering of the people and to repair the socioeconomic foundation of the country.”
Thursday night will feature an interactive Question and Answer Session and it will be carried live on WinnFm and Sugar City Rock.
