Mr. Arthur Selwood Joins The Department Of Education Team

    May 13, 2014 With an aim to continue to create a culture of excellence within the education system, Mr. Arthur Selwood was welcomed as the newest member of staff to join the Department of Education as the Education Officer responsible for school governance and principal supervision.

     

    Mr. Selwood was warmly welcomed by the Department on Monday, May 5. 

    According to the Chief Education Officer Mrs. Jillian M Douglas-Phillip, “Mr. Selwood brings to this Department, not only years of experience in a school administrative position, but also a wealth of knowledge from his related research.”  

    Mrs. Douglas-Phillip continued, “He is eager and willing to share his knowledge with all principals, and assist in creating a close knit community.”

    Some of his responsibilities would be to engage principals and teachers in professional learning and development; to develop and implement strategies for leadership development and to measure and monitor leadership effectiveness. Additionally, he is expected to create administrative processes to improve efficiency across schools and will develop professional learning communities to support school improvement.

    Mr. Selwood aims to recognise, encourage and support best practices displayed in the work of principals.

    In an effort to improve the high quality Education product, the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Department of Education welcomes Mr. Arthur Selwood.
