ST JOHN’S, Antigua – With regard to an article appearing in today’s edition of the Stabroek News in Guyana (headlined: Talks over Independence T20 still on - http://www.stabroeknews.com/2014/sports/05/23/talks-independence-t20-still/which reports that the President of the West Indies Cricket Board Mr. Whycliffe ‘Dave’ Cameron is in “dialogue” with the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) with regard to a cricket event in Berbice, Mr. Cameron and the WICB wish to make it clear that he is in no such dialogue.

Mr. Cameron received communication from Mr. Anil Beharry who raised the matter and Mr. Cameron advised Mr. Beharry that the matter was a procedural one and the WICB had already made a declaration on the issue. The WICB position remains. The Independence T20 Cup does not form part of approved cricket of the WICB.
