    ARRESTS 

     

    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, May 27th, 2014  --  Roy Devent of The Alley, Sandy Point was formally arrested and charged for the offences of Malicious Damage, Simple Wounding and Battery, which were committed on 16th May 2014,

    Livingston Moore of Bird Rock was formally arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis With Intent To Supply, which were committed on 22th May 2014.

    Lenford Gumbs of Buckley's  Site was formally arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis With Intent To Supply, which were committed on 22nd May 2014.
     
    Kurt Gutierrez of Tabernacle Village was formally arrested and charged for the offence of Building Breaking and Larceny, which was committed between 1 September 2013 and 25 November 2013. 

    A juvenile was formally arrested and charged for the offence of Carrying Abroad An Offensive Weapon,  which was committed on 22nd May 2014.
     
    A juvenile was formally arrested and charged for the offences Wounding, Battery and Disorderly Conduct By Fighting, which were committed on 22nd May 2014.

    A juvenile was formally arrested and charged for the offence of Battery, which was committed on 22nd May 2014. 

    Carl Hobson of La Guerite was formally arrested and charged for the offence of Wounding, which was committed on 24th May 2014.

    COURT CONVICTIONS

    District "B" Magistrate's Court

    Desroy Morgan of Lodge Village was convicted for the offence of Indecent Language, which was committed on 28th September 2012 at Lodge Village, and fined $500.00 which is to be paid by 2nd June 2014 or in default will serve fourteen (14)days in prison with hard labour.

    SEVERAL HOSPITALISED AFTER A THREE (3) VEHICULAR TRAFFIC  ACCIDENT

    The Traffic Department is investigating a traffic accident which occurred on Wednesday 21 May 2014 at Johnson Long Path in the vicinity of the eastern entrance of Ross University, which resulted in several person being transported to the hospital. 

    Initial investigations reveal that motor omni bus HA 318, owned by Heriel Hall of New Ground, but, driven by Kelvis Matthew of Main Street Saddlers, motor car PA 3017, owned and driven by Leon Henry of Conaree Village, and  Motor Omni Bus HA 190 owned by Bernard Boland Junior of Bladen Housing but driven by Bruce Coker of Challengers Village were involved in a three (3) vehicular traffic accident. Motor omni bus HA318 and motor car PA 3017 were travelling towards Basseterre and motor omni bus HA 190 was travelling in the opposite when the accident occurred. 

    Commissioner CG Walwyn therefore takes this opportunity to encourage drivers of motor omni bus to be cognisant of the fact that they are transporting human beings and due diligence must be paid to road safety.  He also encourage passengers/commuters to take their safety while travelling/commuting on the motor omni buses seriously and instruct drivers to commute them safely to their destinations. 

    SHOOTING INCIDENT IN NEVIS THAT LEFT ONE HOSPITALIZED

    The Violent Crime Unit on Nevis is investigating a shooting incident which occurred on Wednesday 21 May 2014 at Cades Bay which resulted in one (1) being injured and taken to the hospital, and has since being discharged. 

    Initial investigation reveal that a Newcastle resident (Vernon Parris) was standing at the intersection of the Island Main Road and Westbury Road when he was attacked by an unknown assailant in a moving vehicle. 

    Anyone who has information pertaining to this investigation is ask to call  the Violent Crime Unit at 469-5269, the nearest police station, or, Crime Stoppers at 1-880-8477. Remember,  your information will be treated as confidential, and you may be eligible to receive a reward.

    TWO (2) BUILDINGS DESTROYED BY FIRE 

    The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in investigating the circumstances by which a house was completely destroyed by fire on Friday 23 May 2014 at Conaree Village sometime after 11:00 pm. 

    Initial investigation revealed that the owner and occupier of the house had a candle lit in the house and sometime later an explosion was heard and the house was engulfed in flames.

    The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is investigating the circumstances by which fire which damaged a two (2) storey building at Victoria Road Basseterre which is owned by Barker and Kelly, on Saturday 24 May 2014, which left one person being transported to the hospital. 

    Initial investigations revealed that sparks were seen coming from an electrical meter on the building, which later burst in flames and quickly spread throughout the building, which completely destroyed the upper section of the building.
