Wednesday, June 4 – The Rotaract Club of Tortola is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary in the British Virgin Islands, on Thursday, June 5.

The club has been an active Community Service organization for young men and women between the ages of 18 and 30-years-old. Throughout this period, members of the club have created and hosted thousands of events and fundraisers for various local and international causes.

Honourable Archibald Christian, Founding President of the Club said that he was pleased with the work that the club has done over the past 30 years and he was excited to see that young people of the Virgin Islands could continue the tradition of “Fellowship through Service.”

He said, “Thirty years is truly a milestone for any organization in our BVI. The club is older but it is strong and growing. Community service is how we build morale in our young people and it is how we lift the spirits of the citizens of a growing community. I am proud to say that the Rotaract Club is focused on building productive, industrious citizens that will preserve the future of the Territory.”

The Rotaract Club’s President Elect, Jevaughn Rhymer added, “As we go into the coming Rotary year, and as we celebrate thirty years of service, we, as Rotaractors, wish to thank the community for supporting our efforts as we do our best to give back to all.”

The Rotaract Club of Tortola was chartered on June 5, 1984, with approximately 15 members. The motto of the club is “Fellowship through Service.” Persons interested in joining this service organization are asked to email the club at rotaract.club.tortola@gmail.com.
