BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ST. KITTS-NEVIS sprinter Antoine Adams was the top performer amongst three of the Federation’s athletes who competed today (Jun. 5) in the Golden Gala in Italy, finishing second in the 100 metres ‘B’ race with a season’s best time.
Antoine Adams clocked 10.14 seconds and was edged by Jamaica’s Jason Livermore who finished in 10.13 seconds.
Also in that race was Jason Rogers who had to settle for fifth spot in a time of 10.39 seconds.
In the 100 metres ‘A’ race, sprint legend Kim Collins was subjected to fourth place in a star-studded field that featured the likes of Justin Gatlin and Nesta Carter.
Gatlin won the race which followed last year’s success when he edged Usain Bolt on the line.
Gatlin, who set a year-leading time of 9.87 seconds last month, was in front from the start and finished in 9.91, 0.11 ahead of Jamaica’s Nesta Carter. Britain’s Adam Gemili was third.
Collins finished in a time of 10.15 seconds.
