Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 6, 2014 -- Contestant Number One in the 2014 Miss Cheryl Stevens Beauty Pageant is Vinelma Phillip.
Born November 16, 1985, purposeful and passionate, Vinelma Phillip is grounded in the belief that "where there is a will, there is a way!" She firmly asserts that dreams are achievable with proper planning, hard work and discipline.
Though her secondary education was cut short by teenage pregnancy, she determinedly has furthered her education by enrolling in evening classes at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College. This determination to rise above her circumstances has resulted in her attaining passes in English, Principals of Business, Office Administration and Cape Law Unit 1. Vinelma describes her success as “the tip of the iceberg” as she is dedicated to continue setting ablaze a path of success for herself and her children.
Of all her educational achievements and personal triumphs, Vinelma’s crowing achievement is being a mother of two beautiful children: eleven (11) year old, Zhoa Phillip and six (6) year old, Khaidon Neil.
Vinelma considers her children as her anchor, strength and motivation for social mobility and financial security.
One can describe Vinelma Phillip in three (3) words: Focused, Determined and Inspired!

Vinelma will join four other contestants at Carnival City on June 14, 2014 at 8: 00 p.m. as they compete for the coveted title, Miss Cheryl Stevens Beauty Pageant 2014.
Miss Cheryl Stevens Beauty Pageant is an annual event that aims to showcase the beauty within single mothers within the Federation, promote confidence, poise and strength and communicate meaningful social and educational messages through the performing arts of pageantry.
