Press Release

Friday 13th June 2014 – Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The Limacol CPL today announced that Trinidad and Tobago-based company, Red Steel Sports and Entertainment Ltd. (RSSEL), has been named as exclusive sponsorship partner of the Red Steel team.

The recently-formed company, which is led by key Trinidadian businessmen, Anthony Sampath, Keith Nexar and Steve Mathura, will negotiate and manage sponsorship packages for the Red Steel team, further bolstering its franchise position within the league.

In only its second year of operations, CPL has agreed a number of valuable partnerships and sponsors across the piece – and with only four weeks to go before CPL 2014, there are a small number of fantastic opportunities left for potential partners.

CPL Chief Operating Officer, Pete Russell, said; “We are delighted to have this terrific team on board as exclusive partner for the Red Steel. Anthony, Keith and Steve collectively bring an unrivalled level of partnership that will undoubtedly further cement the Red Steel as a valuable team within the league.”

He continues; “Red Steel Sports and Entertainment Ltd. joins our existing list of superb CPL partners across the region – which is a great compliment to the tournament after only one year of operation. For those wishing to be a part of this unique and wonderful event, and with only four weeks to go to the first game, I encourage them to get in touch.”

Anthony Sampath, Director of RSSEL commented; “We are delighted to be associated with CPL and partner with what we believe will become a significant global sports brand. We want to be part of the excitement this year and look forward to helping deliver another fantastic tournament.”

Captained by Dwayne Bravo and mentored by West Indies legend, Gordon Greenidge, the Red Steel will play its opening game in St. Kitts and Nevis on Saturday 12th July 2014 against the Barbados Tridents.
