BASSETERRE St. Kitts, 19th August, 2014 -- The St. Kitts & Nevis Bar Association has learned with deep regret of the passing in St. Lucia of retired Justice Suzie D’Auvergne, C.M.G. Justice D’Auvergne retired in 2004.
Justice D’Auvergne served as a High Court Judge and Justice of Appeal (Ag) of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. She had a long and distinguished legal career serving as Magistrate, Director of Public Prosecutions and Solicitor General and many other national positions including Chairperson of the St. Lucia Law Reform Commission, the Electoral Commission and the Police Complaints Commission. She was also a member of the Judicial and Legal Services Commission.
The St. Kitts & Nevis Bar Association joins other OECS Bars in mourning the passing of a Judge who served this subregion well and who was respected and held in high regard at all times.
We extend our condolences to the Court and to her family.
