Church robbed twice in two weeks

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THIEVES turned their sights on the Wesleyan Holiness Church and over the past weekend, they broke into the sanctuary and stole therefrom, making this the second such incident to have occurred there in as many weeks.

SKNVibes understands that the incident occurred sometime during Friday (Aug. 29) evening.

Head of that gathering, Rev. Sylvester Herbert told SKNVibes that whoever broke into the building – which is located on Cayon Street – stole a flat screen television monitor.

That incident was reported to the police and investigations are being made.

The Rev. said however, that that incident was preceded by one which took place on the evening of Wednesday, August 13, 2014 where another flat screen television monitor was stolen therefrom.

He said one each was mounted on the southern and northern wall of the building.

That incident was also reported to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and investigations are being made.

In condemning sacrilegious act, Rev. Herbert said “…stealing is wrong but stealing from the House of God is terrible. So we strongly condemn it”.

He also made a plea to persons having any information about the incident to make contact with the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477.
