BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - ST. KITTS-NEVIS LABOUR PARTY (SKNLP) candidate for Constituency Number Three Konris Maynard opened a new constituency office over the past weekend in Haynes Smith Village with a rally and celebration to mark the occasion.
The facility is located on the eastern side of Millionaire Street.
Speaking at the rally, Maynard told the gathering that the SKNLP is “stronger than ever” in the Constituency and claimed that he would be there for the long haul.
“In Constituency Three, Labour is stronger than ever and that is why I had to bring you this brand new spanking constituency office; because I want to show you how serious I am about you. If I was only thinking short term I would clear a piece of land and put down a container to move later… but I have dug a foundation. A foundation rooted in stone and a rock that cannot be moved because I am here to stay.”
He added that the new office gives some insight into the work he plans on offering to the people of the area.
“Take a look at the beautiful office behind you. This is just indicative of the kind of work that I want to do for you. It must show that I am serious about the high quality of representation that Konris Maynard will bring because I love you.”
Maynard also stated that he was ready to ensure that his constituents benefit with him at the helm.
“We have been loyal for far too long to not get the best and that will change now because I will make my voice be heard. That Number Three is not left behind. When the cake comes on the table I will be first in line to make sure that you get your slice, your family get your slice.
“I am here to represent you and this office is a representation of that. You can find me there; after it is opened today it will not be closed for another four months. It will be opened for you the people to come and dialogue with me, tell me what your concerns are, how you want to see the constituency going and all of this I am doing just because I love you.”
To mark the end of the event, Maynard cut the ribbon that was tied across the entrance to the building.
This is Maynard’s second constituency office, with the first being that of the Palmetto Point, Boyds, West Farm Constituency Office.
