September 22, 2014 -The Government of the Virgin Islands is inviting the public to view a live television broadcast on the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Sector on Tuesday, September 23 on JTV Channel 55.
This broadcast will highlight the strides made in the industry as the Territory celebrates 30 years as a well-regulated financial services jurisdiction.
The programme will begin at 7:00 p.m. and be simulcast on ZBVI 780 AM. Special guests will include Acting Permanent Secretary in the Premier’s Office, Mr. Brodrick Penn, Financial Secretary, Mr. Neil Smith, former BVI Attorney General, Mr. Lewis Hunte Q.C., as well as Retired Founding Partner of Harney Westood and Riegels, Mr. Michael Riegels and others.
Discussions will focus on the International Business Companies Act, 1984 and its importance to the Territory, as well as its global impact on other financial services jurisdictions.
