By: Loshaun Dixon, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - TIJA STANLEY, the Federation’s first-ever Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) professional fighter, is on the fight trail once again as he prepares to defend his Caribbean Ultimate Fist Fighting (CUFF) title  in Trinidad next month.

Speaking with SKNVibes, Stanley gave the details of his upcoming fight.

“This upcoming fight is my first 185-pound title defense for CUFF... I'll be fighting Leyland Gomez who has a two-win two-loss record.

Stanley indicated for this publication the progression of preparations for the upcoming event.

“Preparations are coming along well. I am training up to three times on some days. I still have about 15 pounds to cut down before I go...”

The MMA champion told this publication he is confident heading into the fight and he has reflected on his year thus far.

“I am going into this fight very confident... I will enter this fight as the bigger, faster and smarter fighter...2014 was a blessed training season for me... Cancelations from different organizations gave me more time to prefect my craft as a Mixed Martial Arts Practitioner...”

He made a bold prediction of the fight’s outcome.

“Fans can expect to see more skill, more power and a big knockout this time around! I've been working on my game!”

In thanking his sponsor, Stanley said, “I want to send a shout out to Life Fitness Center for being my number one sponsor and supporter from the start! I want to thank Caribbean Ultimate Fist Fighting for giving Caribbean fighters and fighters from all over the globe a place to display their talents and skills!”

The fight is scheduled for November 22.

Stanley is a former Heavyweight Champion and Heavyweight title-holder of the Caribbean Kickboxing Grappling Shou Federation’s (CKGSF) Caribbean MMA.
