ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2014 - GIS: Grenada’s Acting Prime Minister, Honourable Gregory Bowen has conveyed on behalf of the Government and People of Grenada, condolences to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Government and People of Canada over the violent attacks launched on the Canadian military personnel and Parliament in recent days.
Acting Prime Minister Bowen condemned Wednesday’s attack which has been dubbed a “terrorist attack” by the Canadian Prime Minister.
The terror attack in Ottawa on Wednesday happened at the Parliament and the National War Memorial, and left one army reservist dead as he stood on guard in front of the War Memorial. The gunman subsequently entered the Parliament building and fired off shots before he was brought down by the sergeant-at-arms of Canada's House of Commons.
Wednesday’s attack was the second this week, following Monday when a vehicle deliberately struck two soldiers; one of whom perished.
Acting Prime Minister Bowen emphasized that Grenada abhors any and all forms of violence, and that Grenada reiterates its commitment to join the global effort for peace, solidarity and justice.
