Basseterre, St. Kitts - As a part of its ongoing commitment to support community empowerment, LIME St. Kitts & Nevis Ltd. has collaborated with the Reach for Recovery Breast Cancer Support Group RFRSKB to host Pink Zone 2014.
Pink Zone is a staple activity for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the Federation and provides information and free educational material to educate the Kittitian and Nevisian populace about breast cancer and what can be done to
prevent and treat this disease.
Each day from 2:00pm until closing, persons may visit the LIME Flag Ship storeon Cayon Street for a free breast examination and to learn how to do their own Breast Self-Examinations (BSE). Three medical professionals, including RFRSBSG member Deborah Cool volunteered to give the free breast examinations and encouraged the partakers to continue to do their monthly BSE.
Having commenced on Friday October 10th, a total of forty-six (46) men and women were checked with three (3) women being issued free mammograms where anomalies were detected.
RFRSKB, Spokesperson Markysa O’Loughlin expresses her sincerest appreciation to LIME for partnering with RFRSBSG’s ‘ Breast Cancer Awareness’campaign over the years and singled them out as one of the leading corporate entities that give back so generously to their valued customers and their communities.
General Manager, David Lake explained, "We are extremely proud of our partnership with the Reach for Recovery Breast Cancer Support Group and their Breast Cancer Month activities for the third consecutive year. We also commend the group and its members for championing the fight against breast cancer awareness in St. Kitts and Nevis and are elated to support them.”
