By: OAS, Press Release

November 28th, 2014  --  The Organization of American States (OAS) is pleased to announce that the 3rd Annual Youth Conference of the Americas, is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December  2, 2014 from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm.

This year, the Conference is entitled “Migration and Education:  A Conversation with Youth of the Americas”, which will focus on the interrelationship between migration and education, and its influence on young people’s decision to migrate.  The objective of the Conference is to underscore the need for cooperation among Member States in order to manage migratory trends of our youth in a holistic and balanced manner.

Started November 17, 2014, the youths of the Federation can be a part of this year’s conference by visiting the Virtual Forum and sharing their thoughts on the topic. The virtual conference will end on December  2, 2014. On that same date high level officials from the region responsible for education and migration, will discuss policies on education and migration impacting the youth of the region.

The comments and suggestions of the virtual conference will be included in the discussion of this high level conference.  The OAS looks forward to hearing the ideas and experiences from the Federation’s youth  so that the OAS and Governments of the Americas may strengthen the work done to support the young people of the Americas.
